Whatever your vernacular, there is one undeniable fact; money ruins more friendships and musical careers than Axl Rose.
I don’t remember what I said to that question. What I do remember though is that deep down, I was afraid of it. I was afraid of money altering my focus and making me a sellout.
While many of you might laugh at my naïveté, in my defense I was 20. What on earth make you think I was even remotely mature enough to answer that question?
Things like touring, merchandise, better gear, more recording time, a music video, maybe even existing. Cause like it or leave it, band practice and gigs cost money.
As a band, you should never put money before your art. At the same time you should never think you’re too good for financial help. Cause like it or leave it, you can’t make it on your own, at least not in the music industry anyway.
