Formation, lineup changes, "Paper Cranes & Hand Grenades" (2010 – Present)
Carving a trail in the indie rock scene, SFK originated in Burlington Ontario as a way to preserve rock music that was starting to disappear from the mainstream.
S.F.K’s first performance was at Sheridan College on March 14, 2011, which was televised live across Ontario college campuses.
Shortly after that performance S.F.K. used the momentum to push forward into the Toronto music scene performing at Lola’s, Elmocambo, and The Sound Academy.
Having gained a reputation of high-octane live shows, well written songs and a sound influenced heavily on 90’s rock, Searching For Kim decided to enter the recording studio to comprise an EP.
Recording at The Pocket Studio SFK struck up a working partnership with Our Lady Peace Founder and Guitarist for Crash Karma, Mike Turner.
On October 31st 2012 SFK released their 4 track debut EP “Paper Cranes & Hand Grenades” completely free onto the internet to bring attention to the band and as a thank you to their dedicated fan base.
After the success of their debut EP, S.F.K. appeared live on CFRE Radio and started performing live at The MOD Club, The Velvet Underground, Smiling Buddha, The Supermarket, The Unicorn, Duffy’s Tavern, Rancho Relaxo, and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Now into their 4th year of performing as a rock ensemble, Searching For Kim aims to take over the world with every show, every song, and every moment.
